Feedback’s Corporate Social initiatives began
in 2000 when their CEO, Ravichandar was nominated
as a member of the Bangalore Agenda Task Force (BATF).
This was a public private initiative of the Government
of Karnataka to make Bangalore a world class city.
Ravichandar was an active member
of the Bangalore Agenda Task Force (BATF) where he
has contributed on city improvement initiatives on
a voluntary (pro bono) basis. Between 2000-04, he
has specifically engaged with the Bangalore City Corporation
(Self Assessment Scheme for property tax), Bangalore
Development Authority (Infrastructure projects, Bond
issue, IT Corridor, Mapping, Lalbagh restoration,
etc.). He has also coordinated the BATF initiatives
with the government agencies.
Feedback has publicly set out over
50 actionable ideas for urban governance (www.ideasforgov.org).
Ravichandar has also evangelized on the scope for
improved urban governance with government / private
bodies in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkatta,
Kochi, Trivandraum and Nashik.
Ravichandar was actively involved
(along with others) in evangelizing a National Urban
Renewal Mission ( NURM ) with the Central Government.
This was launched as a US $12 Bn initiative in December
2005 for 64 cities in India.
In Jan 2005, Feedback undertook a
rapid assessment of livelihoods in the Tsunami hit
areas by sending its executives for a field survey
of the affected regions. Feedback made the case that
there was scope for Livelihoods to be structured differently
post Tsunami rather than replicating past practices.
