BHEL to set up 100-MW hydro power station in Tajikistan

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) on Wednesday said it has joined hands with the Republic of Tajikistan to set up a 100-MW hydro electric power unit in Tajikistan. The hydro power station will be set up by BHEL on Zeravshan river in Tajikistan, BHEL said in a statement. In Tajikistan, BHEL has earlier commissioned a hydro generator for Pamir-1 project in Khorog and is currently executing renovation, modernisation and upgradation of Varzob-1 hydro power project. Currently, BHEL has presence across 75 countries. The cumulative overseas installed capacity of BHEL manufactured power plants exceeds 9,000 MW across 21 countries. It is currently executing various power plant projects in as many as 20 countries to install about 5,000 MW of generating equipment.
